Goodwill Industries of Lower South Carolina (Palmetto Goodwill) is seeking a responsible individual to operate a truck in North Charleston. This role requires adherence to all transportation rules and regular communication with a supervisor.

The successful candidate will perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring safety protocols are followed while transporting donated items. Additional responsibilities include maintaining a clean vehicle and handling trash disposal as authorized.

• Operate truck in a safe manner abiding by all applicable State and local transportation rules.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on the vehicle.
• Maintain communication with the supervisor via telephone.
• Load and unload vehicle to safeguard donated items.

• Operate truck in safe manner abiding by all applicable State and local transportation rules and regulations.
• Perform daily pre-trip inspections on vehicle prior to starting route.
• Maintain daily log of scheduled stops.
• Maintain constant communication with supervisor via telephone.
• Load and unload vehicle in manner to safeguard donated items from breakage.
• Keep vehicle clean inside and out.
• Haul trash and scrap metal as authorized.
• Return salvage to centralized warehouse.
• Perform daily post-trip inspections on vehicle and notify the Transportation Manager of any concerns.
• Ensure that first aid kit and fire extinguisher are maintained (i.e. order supplies, check inspection date on fire extinguisher).
