Atlas Machine and Supply, Inc. is seeking a full-time Truck Driver in Louisville, KY. The role involves safely operating a company truck to pickup and deliver parts and equipment, with duties spanning material handling, inspections, and routine maintenance.

Applicants should have a High School diploma, at least 3 years in a related role, DOT certification, and a valid driver’s license. Forklift experience and potential overtime are required. Competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must interpret directions, shipping assignments, etc.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a related industry position of same
• Must maintain DOT certification
• Requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• A strong work ethic and drive to succeed is necessary
• Must possess above average written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass DOT requirements
• Forklift experience is required in an industrial environment
• Overhead crane experience is a plus
• Position requires availability to work overtime as needed including nights and weekends
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. independently

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads the company truck, using forklift or hoist for pickup and delivery of parts and equipment to customer, Atlas divisions and vendor locations
• Loads or unloads, or assists in loading and unloading truck
• Performs daily vehicle inspections, minor service, and maintenance on the truck
• Moves customer’s parts within Atlas facilities to desired work area
• Prepares finished products for shipping by UPS and other expediting services.
• Drives and operates forklifts
• Reads work order or follows oral instructions to move materials or containers
• Packages jobs to customer specifications or Atlas protocol
• Loads materials into/onto vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit
• Positions items, bands, and shrink wraps items accordingly to secure cargo for transport
• Inspects truck before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition
• Comply with DOT requirements
• Reads bill of lading to determine assignment
• Fastens chain or binders to secure load on trailer during transit
• Delivers top rated customer service to our customers
• Perform other tasks assigned including but not limited to housekeeping and light maintenance
