Job description

Description

This job involves various responsibilities related to warehouse and transportation operations, including unloading and loading trucks, verifying freight accuracy, inspecting materials, stocking shelves, assembling orders, operating commercial vehicles, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities
  1. Unload trucks and trailers containing merchandise from manufacturers and load materials for shipment based on load schedules provided by transportation personnel.
  2. Verify the accuracy of received freight against purchase orders; complete material shortage forms if packing lists do not match.
  3. Inspect received materials for transportation damage; inspect returned materials for damage.
  4. Stock storage shelves, bins, and designated areas with materials.
  5. Assemble customer orders using picking methods.
  6. Operate a commercial motor vehicle on prescribed routes for pickup and delivery; assist with unloading merchandise.
  7. Pickup transformer units for repair.
  8. Abide by all state, federal, and local regulations.
  9. Inform supervisors about customer needs and other relevant information to improve relations.
  10. Maintain accurate records and logs; conduct business professionally and cooperatively.
  11. Handle stress effectively and work well with others.
  12. Perform other related duties as required.
  13. Maintain regular and punctual attendance; work outside regular hours when necessary to ensure continuous, reliable service.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED, plus 12 to 18 months of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must be D.O.T. certified or able to qualify for certification
  • Valid Class B CDL
  • Forklift certification
