Truck Driver, Over-the-Road (Tankers)
The Truck Driver, Over-the-Road (Tankers) drives and operates semi-tankers and straight trucks as required.


Essential Functions & Requirements:



  • Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times

  • Completes assigned routes as designated by Transport dispatchers with loaded tankers consisting of customer materials to be transported to a disposal facility

  • Prior to driving transportation equipment/vacuum trucks, prepares for daily trip by inspecting vehicle and equipment, fueling truck, and ensuring all equipment is in excellent operating order

  • Completes manifests, Company documents, and other marking and placarding documents for every load managed

  • Maintains logbook for DOT compliance and State and Federal regulations

  • Drives to the customer site to collect waste material and/or transport hazardous and non-hazardous waste material to facility for unloading and disposal

  • Acts as Company representative with courtesy towards every customer

  • Loads freight and may climb tankers or pull hoses

  • Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization


Education:



  • High-school diploma or equivalent (required)


Experience:



  • 1+ years of Class A CDL driving experience (required)

  • 3+ years of Class A CDL driving experience (preferred)

  • Tanker/Hazmat endorsement (required)


Competencies:



  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner

  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with both internal and external customers

  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including a respirator

  • Ability to understand RCRA compliance standards, OSHA safety and DOT regulations

  • Ability to meet company driving qualifications with a CDL

  • Ability to obtain valid endorsements as required

  • Regular and predictable attendance to perform the functions and requirements of this role
