Job Overview

Deliver natural and conventional merchandise to various independent retail customers.

Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities

1. Ensure compliance with company procedures as outlined in the UNFI Drivers’ Handbook and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (DOT).
2. Perform required vehicle safety inspections before, during, and after dispatch.
3. Comply with federal hours of service requirements.
4. Correctly execute daily logs and trip reports.
5. Immediately report all accidents involving company equipment to the appropriate manager.
6. Comply with federal and state traffic laws and company safety procedures.
7. Maintain familiarity with FMCS regulations and ensure compliance.
8. Follow the schedule of deliveries as per dispatch instructions.

Job Requirements

1. Valid Class A CDL license.
2. Minimum of 1 year of tractor-trailer driving experience.
3. Clean driving record.
4. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
5. Good customer service skills.
6. Ability to sit for long periods.
7. Ability to lift cases weighing up to 95 pounds during deliveries.
8. Good judgment, especially when supervision is not immediately available.
