Position Purpose:
The Driver - SCM is responsible for driving a tractor-trailer or straight truck on local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight routes to deliver and unload food and food-related products safely and timely, in accordance with DOT regulations. Communicates professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers, and performs duties to serve the company effectively.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Perform safety checks (pre/post trip) and inspections according to DOT regulations.
2. Report safety issues and follow safety guidelines and policies.
3. Inspect trailers for proper loading and security.
4. Check items and customer invoices for loaded products.
5. Complete all freight-related paperwork accurately.
6. Drive to delivery locations and unload products.
7. Verify deliveries with customers and obtain signatures; handle cash or checks if required.
8. Secure equipment and freight; handle damaged goods and returns.
9. Maintain logs of hours of service as per regulations.
10. Keep tractor, trailers, and work areas clean and organized.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• 12+ months of commercial tractor/trailer experience.
• 6+ months foodservice distribution/delivery experience preferred.
• Valid CDL-A, 21+ years old, with a clean MVR for the past 3 years.
• Pass drug and road tests; current DOT Health Card or ability to obtain one.
• Ability to lift and move freight weighing 10-90 pounds using appropriate equipment.
