Job summary

Samuel, Son & Co. 1855 in Rochester, NY is seeking an experienced Class B CDL flatbed driver to transport steel materials and securely strap, chain, and tarp as needed.

You will follow DOT regulations, maintain accurate delivery records, perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and communicate clearly with dispatchers and customers. Qualifications

• A valid CDL with appropriate weight classification.
• 2 years of verifiable Tractor Trailer Experience preferred.
• 1 year flatbed and steel experience preferred.
• Knowledge of all applicable DOT Regulations and Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
• Able to pass pre-employment DOT physical and background check.
• Strong customer service skills and a professional attitude.
• Acceptable MVR Report Abstracts. No more than 2 moving violations within the past 36 months.
• Steel, Heavy Haul, and Oversized Freight experience is a highlighted asset.
• Knowledge of FMCSA and State D.O.T.

• Adhere to safety protocols, PPE, and handling of hazardous materials if applicable.
• Dedicated Conestoga trailers - NO TARPING.

• Assist with loading and unloading material using forklifts, cranes, and other equipment as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents or delays encountered during transportation.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate delivery schedules and address any concerns or issues that may arise.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and the handling of hazardous materials, if applicable

• Comfortable working in various weather conditions and environments, including exposure to heat, cold, rain, and dust.
