Job summary

Penske is hiring immediate opportunities for full-time Class A CDL truck drivers in Illinois. Average earnings around $100,000 annually, with a $5,000 retention bonus and safety performance bonuses up to $3,000 per year, plus referral bonuses up to $5,000 per referral.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL required; must be domiciled in the U.S.
• Must hold or obtain a DOT medical card (medical card)
• 1 year of tractor-trailer experience in last 3 years or 2 years in last 5 years
• 3 years of DMV/MVR with ≤2 moving violations or accidents
• Must meet all DOT regulations and pass background/drug screening
• Regular, predictable attendance is essential

Responsibilities

• Routes have multi-stop deliveries and unloading of tires at customer sites
• Count tires and verify quantities at each stop
• Maintain safety and comply with all regulations during routes

Immediate Opportunities - Full-time Class A CDL Truck Drivers

• Average $100,000 annually

You will drive

• Late model Freightliner, Volvo, and Penske Truck Leasing trucks
• Best‑in‑class specs designed for comfort
• Equipped with inward and outward‑facing in‑cab cameras to ensure safety for all

What you will do

• Routes have multi‑stop deliveries where drivers are responsible for unloading tires from their trailers
• Drivers are responsible for counting the exact number of tires being delivered to each customer
• 4 layovers required per week

Schedule

• Workdays: Sunday through Thursday
• Sunday: Mid‑Day dispatch
• Monday through Thursday: Start time 5:00 AM to 6:00 AM, the rest of the week

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL required. Applicants must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in their state of residence.
• Must hold or be able to obtain a non‑exempt interstate DOT medical card.
• 1 year of documented tractor‑trailer experience in the last 3 years required, or 2 years in the last 5 years.
• 3 years of DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents.
• Follow all federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
• English language proficiency required.
• Work the required schedule, work at the specific location, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation and drug screening.
• Position is regulated by the Department of Transportation and is safety sensitive; ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required.
• Associate must accept responsibility for their own safety and the safety of others.

Physical Requirements

• The associate must be able to see and hear; specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• The associate must repeatedly move, stand, walk, sit, and use hands for touching, handling, and feeling, and reach with hands and arms.
• Regularly lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and occasionally up to 100 lbs (45 kg).
• The associate must legally operate a motor vehicle and frequently enter/exit the vehicle and the rear cargo area.
