Job summary

Penske Logistics is hiring full-time CDL Class A Truck Drivers in Albany, NY. You will deliver steel to customer locations using a flatbed trailer, tarp and secure loads, and complete 30–40 stops weekly with a 5:00 AM start.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL
• DOT medical card current or ability to obtain
• 1 year of tractor-trailer experience in last 3 years or 2 years in last 5 years
• Clean DMV/MVR record with limited violations
• English language proficiency per federal requirement

You will drive:

Late model, Penske Truck Leasing trucks

Equipped with inward and outward facing in-cab cameras helping to ensure safety for all

What you will do:

Deliver steel to customer locations using a flatbed trailer

Must be able to tarp, strap, and secure loads using proper flatbed securement techniques to meet DOT safety requirements and protect freight during transport.

Complete 30 to 40 stops per week on average

Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers

Schedule:

Monday through Friday

5:00 AM start time

Qualifications:

Valid Class A CDL required. Applicants must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in their state of residence

Currently hold, or ability to obtain, a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card required

1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years required, or 2 years of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 5 years

3 years DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents

Follow all federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines

Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job

In order to be compliant with federal law (49 C.F.R. 391.11(b)(2)), this role requires English language proficiency.

Work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required

This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation or designated as safety sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required. Associates must have the ability to accept responsibility for their own safety, as well as the safety of others.

The associate must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle and safely and frequently enter/exit the vehicle as well as the rear cargo area.
