Job summary

Penske Logistics in Batavia, IL is hiring full-time Class A CDL truck drivers. You will make local deliveries, haul 53' dry van trailers, and perform live loads/unloads while staying compliant with safety regulations.

Shift times vary, typically 8–10 hours with 45–55 hours weekly, and you’ll be home daily on most routes. Eligible drivers earn $29.40 per hour with overtime after 40 hours, plus a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL required and US residence.
• 1 year tractor-trailer experience or 2 years in 5 years.
• English language proficiency and DOT medical card.

Responsibilities

• Make local deliveries to customer locations.
• Haul 53' dry van trailers and perform live loads/unloads.
• Move trailers to/from loading docks as needed.
• Complete local deliveries across IL, IN, IA, WI as needed.

You will drive:

• Late-model Penske Truck Leasing trucks
• Best-in-class specs designed for comfort
• Equipped with inward and outward-facing in-cab cameras, helping to ensure safety for all
• 53' dry van trailers
• Day cabs

What you will do:

• Make local deliveries to customer locations
• Haul cardboard in 53' swing-door trailers
• Perform live loads and unloads
• Move trailers to and from loading docks as needed
• Complete local deliveries throughout the surrounding area

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday
• Shift start times vary between 3:00 PM and 1:00 AM
• Typically 8 to 10 hours per day
• Average 45 to 55 hours per week
• Some local routes may include IL, IN, IA, and WI

Qualifications:

• Valid Class A CDL required. Applicants must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in their state of residence
• Currently hold, or ability to obtain, a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card required
• 1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years required, or 2 years of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 5 years
• 3 years DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents
• Follow all federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
• In order to be compliant with federal law (49 C.F.R. 391.11(b)(2)), this role requires English language proficiency.
• Work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required
• This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation or designated as safety sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required. Associates must have the ability to accept responsibility for their own safety, as well as the safety of others.
