Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver for routes in Ocala, FL and surrounding states. Positions offer weekly pay, a base rate of $30 per hour, per diem, and extensive benefits.

Expect 40+ hours per week, with overnight accommodations when on the road and a $3,000 sign-on bonus plus a $1,000 yearly tenure bonus. Paid training, and a flexible schedule from Monday to Friday. Ryder trains you on equipment and routes; benefits begin after 30 days.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test.
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle.
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines.
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards; maintaining accurate records and logs.
• Loading/unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Routes & Equipment

• Deliver SOLOTo:Fl and Surrounding States
• Route:Regional
• Tractor Type: Day Cabs and Sleepers - Possibility of 26' Straight Truck
• TrailerType:48' - 53' Flatbeds, Dry Vans, Reefers, Conestogas, Curtainsides and Container
• Equipment: pallet jack, lift gate, rollers or Moffett preferred
• Ryder will Train you on all equipment needed to be successful
• Freight:Mix or Touch and No Touch
• 1 year of flatbed experience preferred
• Hazmat, Tanker & Doubles/Triples Endorsements preferred
• Experience with strapping, chaining & tarping preferred

Ryder Drivers operate well-maintained, safe trucks, 36 months or newer with 24/7 Roadside Maintenance and fueling at over 800 nationwide maintenance locations
