Job summary

Ryder is seeking a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Naugatuck, CT to join a regionally focused fleet. You will operate well-maintained trucks with a weekly pay cycle and a Monday–Friday schedule, no weekends, starting at around $1,600 per week and higher with mileage, stops, and per diem pay.

The role requires a CDL-A with endorsements, DOT physical, road test, and comprehensive safety/compliance responsibilities. Training is provided, and benefits support is offered by Ryder.

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ years old and able to pass a Ryder drug test.
• Ability to pass a background and motor vehicle check, including drug/alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years.
• Must have Class A CDL with endorsements for the position.
• DOT physical and Ryder road test required.
• 3–10 years of verifiable tractor-trailer experience is evaluated by recency rules.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with federal/state laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Maintain accurate logs and records for safety and regulatory purposes.
• Load/unload freight or assist with loading/unloading when required by customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.

• Driver Positions Pay Weekly
• Solo Miles Pay:$0.64 per Mile with 1000 - 1200 Miles per Week
• Solo Stops Pay:$25.00 per Stop with 30 Stops per Week
• Per Diem Pay: $50 per night with 1 - 2 nights per Week
• Overnights for Route in Ryder Booked Hotel
• Rental Cars Provided and/or Mileage paid for personal vehicle over 30 miles
• Paid Training
• Schedule: Monday – Friday NO WEEKENDS
• Start Time: Between 4:00 am and 6:00 am Dispatch

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
• 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
• 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.
