Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Charlotte, NC is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver. The role offers weekly pay, comprehensive benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about. You’ll typically earn $1,700+ per week with 50+ hours.

Miles are paid at $0.53 per mile with 2,500–2,800 miles weekly. You’ll also earn $11.55 per stop with 4 stops weekly and $25 per night per diem for 3 nights. Training is paid, and schedules run Monday–Sunday with home resets.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older and hold a Class A CDL with valid endorsements.
• Pass a Ryder drug test and a DOT physical.
• Driver must have verifiable tractor-trailer experience.
• Ability to follow written or oral instructions and read regulations.
• Background and motor vehicle checks required for last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with federal/state laws, regulations, and Ryder standards.
• Load/unload freight as needed and maintain logs.
• Deliver solo to designated regional routes and ensure safety.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age


• Pass a Ryder Drug Test


• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years


• Pass a DOT physical


• Pass a Ryder road test


• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position


• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
  
  
  
  • 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
  
  
  • 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR
  
  
  • 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
  
  
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
  
  
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
