Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Chicago, IL is seeking a Class A CDL Truck Driver for a local home-daily route. This regular-full-time position offers 40+ hours weekly, paid training, and weekly pay at $28.00 per hour on no-touch freight with a 53' dry van.

Typical start time is 5:00–7:00 AM. Benefits begin after 30 days, with paid time off from day one and a 401(k) with company match. Endorsements and driver safety are required.

Qualifications

• Candidate must be at least 21 years old.
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Pass Ryder drug test and background checks.
• Pass a DOT physical and Ryder road test.
• Provide valid CDL and endorsements for the position.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load/unload freight if required and assist as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
• 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
• 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
