Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Sarasota, FL is seeking a Class A CDL Part Time Truck Driver for local, home-daily routes. This position offers weekly pay and a comprehensive benefits package, with a 28-hour per week schedule and split start times of 3:00 AM–3:30 AM or 11:30 AM–12:00 PM.

Weekly pay starts at $899 or more, with an hourly component of $26.77 plus a $5.36 per hour health & welfare stipend. The role emphasizes safety and reliable deliveries, including USPS-related work and local routes.

Qualifications

• Must have Class A CDL with endorsements.
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR 2 years in last 5 years, OR 5 years in last 10 years.
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test.
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor Vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load/unload freight or assist with loading/unloading as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
• 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
• 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
