Job description

Martin Mariettais currently looking for a motivated, experienced Truck Driver with our Des Moines Shop team. This position will be responsible for safe transport of large and overweight pieces. This position requires the ability to rig, climb, and properly tie down equipment from lowboy and flatbed trailers. Travel longer than one week at a time is possible but limited.

Essential Functions

1. Transport heavy, oversized equipment in compliance with DOT regulations
2. Load, rig, secure, and unload equipment using proper techniques
3. Must be able to or willing to learn to operate all other mobile equipment, examples include: haul truck, motor grader, water truck, loader, crane, etc.
4. Perform pre-shift safety inspection on equipment
5. Responsible for good housekeeping of equipment and truck

Required Education and Experience

1. High school degree
2. Class A CDL
3. Hazmat Endorsement

Preferred Education and Experience

1. 3 - 5 years of experience with oversized loads
2. Heavy equipment operations

Work Environment

This position frequently operates in an underground or surface mine setting and will frequently operate heavy equipment.
