Job summary

Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia is seeking a Truck Driver and Donation Attendant Non CDL (Finance) to safely operate transportation equipment for pickups and deliveries of donated goods. The role emphasizes adherence to safety regulations and accuracy in documentation.

You will perform pre-trip inspections, maintain secure loads, communicate with the Dispatcher, and provide outstanding service to internal and external customers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 1 year related field experience.
• Must have a valid state driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
• Must pass criminal background check and sex offender check.
• No computer skills required for this role.
• Requires 1 year of prior truck driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Completes pre-trip inspections and reports issues to management.
• Follows safety regulations in pickup and delivery of donated goods.
• Ensures paperwork is updated and communicated to Dispatcher or designee.
• Secures loads before transport and ensures delivery to correct destinations.
• Works independently with good judgment and delivers outstanding customer service.

Position Summary

Safely and efficiently operate assigned transportation equipment in the pick-up and delivery of donated goods and designated items. Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.

Essential Duties (Other duties within the scope of this position may be assigned.)

• Completes pre-trip inspections and notify management team of any equipment issues or concerns.
• Follows all organizational safety regulations in the pick-up and delivery of donated goods and other items.
• Ensures all required paperwork and updates are communicated to the Dispatcher or designee.
• Safely, accurately and efficiently ensures loads are secure before transport, following all route assignments and all items are delivered to the correct destination.
• Must be able to work independently without the need for close, direct supervision, while exercising good judgement in behaviors and communication, providing outstanding customer service to internal and external customers.
