Job summary

The Salvation Army in Key West, FL is seeking a full-time Donations Truck Driver to operate a company vehicle on scheduled routes for picking up merchandise and donations.

Responsibilities include ensuring safety and compliance, loading/unloading heavy items, issuing receipts, performing basic maintenance, and coordinating with recycling centers. Schedule is Mon-Sat 9:00-5:30 with 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• One year experience driving a heavy-duty truck or large van.
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

• Drives Salvation Army truck along scheduled route to pick-up donations and merchandise.
• Drives to the dump and appropriate recycling centers to dispose of non-useable donations.
• Fuels vehicle in accordance with state regulations and Salvation Army standards.
• Prepares donation receipts for customers.
• Ensures the truck meets scheduled maintenance and performs operator maintenance.

Job Details: Job Location: FLA-Key West Thrift - Key West, FL 33040, Position Type: Full Time Regular, Salary Range: $17.00 - $17.40, Job Category: Store, SCHEDULE HOURS: MON-SAT 9:00-5:30 (40 HOURS)

This position is responsible for:

• Driving Salvation Army truck along scheduled route to pick-up donations er merchandise
• Operating the truck in compliance with established Salvation Army standards and state driving regulations;
• Lifting, carrying, loading and unloading variety of donations including furniture, appliances, clothing, etc.; ensures the safety, security, and accountability of the vehicle and donations at all times;

Key Responsibilities:

• Drives Salvation Army truck along scheduled route to pick-up donations er merchandise
• Drives to the dump and appropriate recycling centers to dispose of non-useable donations.
• Fuels vehicle in accordance with state gasoline regulations and The Salvation Army standards.
• Prepares donation receipts for customers
• Ensures the truck meets the scheduled maintenance and performs operators maintenance in accordance with established standards

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Assists in performing work in the thrift store and warehouse
• Work requires driving a vehicle daily with exposure to the outdoors where there are physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, heat or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
• Ability to perform strenuous, heavy work involving the lifting and carrying of heavy objects up to 50 lbs regularly and greater than 50 lbs occasionally.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU:: Education and experience:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred but not required, AND
• one year experience driving a heavy-duty truck or large van, OR
• any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Licenses and Certifications:

• Valid State Driver's License with CDL endorsement, if required.
