Richner Communications/LI Herald are seeking to hire full-time and part-time Drivers. The primary role of the Driver position is to deliver carts of pre-packages inserts, newspapers, and other products to various locations in Nassau County.

Key Responsibilities

Load vehicle with carts and pallets of newspapers and other packaged products.

Drive to various post offices and distribution facilities to drop off carts/pallets of packaged products.

Check and verify loads and keep accurate records of deliveries.

Complete daily pre- and post-trip inspection of truck and report any needed repairs or damage to supervisor.

Clean interior of vehicle follow fueling procedures, record mileage and time requirements to deliver runs.

Maintain a clean and safe work area.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Experience with driving large sized trucks and a minimum of 2 years driving experience preferred.

Must have good driving record with no moving violations in the last two years.

Must be able to operate forklifts and other equipment as necessary.

Medium to heavy work performed; up to 60 pounds lifted at one time.

Must be a team player with good interpersonal skills, communication skills, and demonstrated willingness to work with others.

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet all deadlines.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months to a year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must be reliable, report to scheduled shifts on-time and ready to begin work.
