Job description

Landus Cooperative is seeking a qualified individual to safely haul grain, fertilizer, and related materials and equipment between locations. The role involves maintaining a clean and efficient truck and trailer, with local runs allowing for home nightly, with very few exceptions. The position supports both the Collins and Mitchellville hub locations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include:

1. Communicating effectively with the truck dispatcher, shop personnel, and regional transportation supervisor.
2. Hauling grain, dry and liquid fertilizer to and from farms and between company locations.
3. Tending to liquid and dry fertilizer applicators.
4. Operating semi tractor and trailer efficiently and safely.
5. Handling vehicle equipment knowledge and safety procedures.
6. Following all safety policies, state and federal driving laws, and DOT regulations.
7. Performing daily vehicle inspections and participating in DOT drug and alcohol testing programs.
8. Maintaining cleanliness of the truck and trailer, monitoring vehicle needs, and assisting with repairs as necessary.
9. Completing daily truck log sheets accurately.
10. Supporting operational duties across departments as needed.
11. Performing other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or GED; or 1-3 months related experience/training; or equivalent combination.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Class A CDL with required endorsements or ability to obtain one, maintaining current DOT physical.
• Must meet qualifications outlined in the motor vehicle safety policy.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Regularly talking, hearing, and using hands to handle or feel.
• Standing, walking, bending, twisting, climbing, crawling, sitting, and reaching.
• Occasionally pushing, pulling, or lifting up to 100 pounds.
