Job Details Job Location: JKT, Development Inc. - Sequim, WA Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $27.95 - $36.33 Hourly

We are accepting applications for Truck Drivers to join our growing Jamestown Excavation team! The Truck Driver operates dump trucks, lowboys, end dumps, belly dumps, water trucks, and flatbeds to support residential and/or commercial excavating. This position is responsible for hauling materials and equipment, as well as vehicle maintenance. General labor support may also be provided when applicable.


As a Truck Driver, you will:

  • Be responsible for the efficient, safe, and cost-effective operation of the company's truck to which you are assigned.
  • Operate dump trucks, lowboys, end dumps, belly dumps, water trucks, and flatbed trucks.
  • Keep dispatch informed about traffic, slowdowns, or any other potential problems.
  • Inform dispatch and the shop foreperson about any necessary maintenance or mechanical issues.
  • Fill out timecards correctly; maintain daily logs, damage reports, and load count reports in a timely and concise manner.
  • Perform inspections and routine vehicle maintenance, including adjusting truck brakes and vital fluids. Provide daily documentation for vehicle maintenance.
  • Fuel and grease trucks and/or equipment as needed.
  • Assist JEX positions in the field as needed.
  • Be responsible for the pick-up and delivery of supplies and equipment as applicable.
  • Perform general labor duties, including surveying layout, shoveling rock and dirt, and providing tophand support to pipe layers as needed.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including the appropriate use of PPE.

What are the Required Qualifications for this position?

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Three (3) years of experience in operating Class A vehicles.
  • Satisfactory completion of MSHA (training provided by JEX).
  • Understanding of federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Ability to travel to jobsites, quarries, and suppliers.
  • Commercial Drivers License (with a Class A endorsement for air brakes and tankers).
  • Must comply with random drug and alcohol screens throughout employment.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-hire drug/alcohol and criminal background investigation.

What are the Preferred Qualifications for this position?

  • Ability to operate a range of heavy equipment and excavation machinery.
  • Proficient in using power, hand, and gas-operated tools such as chainsaws.
  • Ability to perform minor and routine maintenance on various equipment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; must be able to speak clearly.
  • Ability to work with and assist laborers when required.
  • American Indian/Alaska Native preferences apply.
