Description

Pennington Seed is seeking an experienced Truck Driver for our Lebanon, Oregon location. Candidates should be safety-conscious and capable of performing duties efficiently within tight schedules and deadlines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate trucks over 3 tons to transport cargo to and from designated locations.
• Haul grass seed or packaging materials to and from Pennington's plant and seed warehouses, oversee loading, and secure loads, possibly including overnight trips.
• Receive and verify hauling instructions from the Production Manager, complete documentation promptly.
• Record travel and cargo details in compliance with federal and state regulations; submit logs regularly to the Safety Coordinator.
• Inspect and maintain the truck to ensure safety, proper operation, and presentation.
• Maintain constant alertness and operate safely at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least 1 year of driving experience with a satisfactory record
• Ability to operate a forklift
• Experience hauling grass seed or in the grass seed industry
• Over 5 years of general truck driving experience
• Current Oregon CDL

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Full-time position
• Overtime and overnight travel as needed
• Ability to operate safely and stay alert at all times
