Job summary

Sugar Foods Corporation is seeking a Fleet Truck Driver in Whiteland, IN for over-the-road deliveries. You will operate a diesel tractor with an automatic transmission on a mostly overnight schedule, performing safe driving, accurate paperwork, and on-time deliveries.

The role offers mostly no-touch freight, 5 days out on average, and a weekly home-time rhythm with a monthly safety bonus. Must have CDL A and strong safety record.

Qualifications

• CDL A license and verifiable driving experience in tractor-trailer operations.
• OTR driving experience and willingness to be out 5 days per week.
• Clean MVR with no at-fault accidents in the last 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a diesel tractor with an automatic transmission.
• Maintain accurate paperwork and logs using ELD.
• Observe hours-of-service and compliance with Federal/State regs.
• Communicate professionally with customers and coworkers.
• Perform vehicle checks and keep tractor/trailer clean and safe.
• Support on-time departures and efficient route execution.

Job Summary

Sugar Foods Fleet Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and professional operation of equipment while completing over the road deliveries, picking up and transporting of material for Sugar Foods on company trucks. No Touch Freight. As an OTR driver you will be out an average 5 days. Monthly safety bonus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Safely operate a diesel tractor with an automatic transmission
• Have excellent communication skills
• Be a team player with a great attitude
• Maintain all local, state and federal laws
• Safely enter and exit the vehicle and trailer
• Be on time for departure
• Maintain safe operation of Sugar Foods vehicles including driving and vehicle safety checks
• Maintain accurate paperwork
• Maintain current and accurate logs and records as required by Federal and State regulations (Using Electronic Log System (ELD)
• Observe all hours of service and other requirements as dictated by Federal and State regulations
• Maintain accurate records of all pre-approved expenses
• Maintain a neat and clean appearance
• Maintain a professional demeanor at all times with customers, coworkers, and the public
• Maintain a clean and washed tractor and trailer

What we look for

• Two years minimum verifiable CDL A related Commercial Truck Driving experience in a tractor-trailer to include some OTR driving of at least one year.
• Must be willing to drive to the Northeast, New England, and Mid-Western states.
• All drivers must be willing to drive at night as well as the daytime.
• CMV Drivers must have a Clean MVR, No At Fault Accidents.
• Valid DOT Medical Examiners Card
• No speeding citations of 15 mph or more over the posted speed limit.
• No more than six points in 5 years.
• No moving violations in 3 years.
• CMV driver candidates who are enrolled in a federal drug rehabilitation program will not be considered.
• CMV driver candidates who are convicted of any drug or alcohol-related offense within the last seven years that involves a commercial vehicle will not be considered.
• CMV driver candidates who are convicted of a felony involving the use of a commercial motor vehicle or leaving the scene of an accident will not be considered.
