Job description

Role and Responsibilities:

• Driver must insist that safety is Job #1.
• This position does not typically require weekend driving; but may be asked to leave on Sundays occasionally. Driver will be required to do layover loads mid-week but will be scheduled to be home on weekends and holidays.
• Driver must physically assist with loading and unloading trailers.
• Driver must complete proper Sunbelt-Solomon load documentation (Load sheets, manifests, etc.).
• Driver responsible to ensure the load being hauled is properly secured with straps, chains, etc.
• Driver must maintain compliance with Federal DOT and FMCSA regulations.
• Driver will be assigned HOS based on a 70/8 ELD.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Qualified Applicants must have a Class A CDL issued in KS or able to obtain one within 30 days.
• Three years of safe driving record required.
• Ability to maintain a Hazmat endorsement (if not already held, must obtain within 120 days of employment; paid by employer).
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must pass a pre-employment screening, including a DOT drug test.
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the US.
• Experience in completing loading and unloading paperwork is preferred.
• Knowledge of electrical equipment, manufacturing operations, and logistics is preferred.
• Requires overnight travel.
• Must have a cooperative attitude towards all internal and external customers.
• A dependable and strong work ethic.
• Professional language and conduct when conducting business on behalf of Sunbelt Solomon.
• Able to operate a smartphone and communicate via text message, email, and phone.
