Position Summary

Harbor Steel is looking for a dependable, safety-focused Truck Driver to join our team. This is a home-every-night position, giving you the opportunity to build a career in transportation while maintaining a consistent return-home schedule.

In this role, you'll be responsible for safely and efficiently delivering finished goods to Harbor Steel customers while providing professional, courteous service at every stop.

As a Truck Driver, you're more than the person behind the wheel—you’re an important part of the customer experience and a representative of Harbor Steel.

What You'll Do

• Safely deliver finished goods to Harbor Steel customers.
• Return home at the end of each scheduled workday.
• Perform thorough pre-trip inspections and ensure the truck is safe and ready for operation.
• Comply with all applicable DOT regulations and company transportation policies.
• Maintain required electronic logs and transportation records.
• Inspect the truck and loaded material before departure, cross-referencing the load with the bill of lading.
• Properly strap and tarp loads to ensure materials are secure during transportation.
• Follow Harbor Steel transportation and unloading procedures at both Harbor Steel facilities and customer locations.
• Interact professionally and positively with customers as the "face of Harbor Steel."
• Safely perform required material-handling activities.
• Keep the truck clean, organized, and free of debris.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

• Valid Class A CDL motor vehicle license
• Ability to understand and comply with DOT regulations.
• Ability to lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Certification or qualification to operate a crane and forklift.
• Ability to accurately maintain required electronic logs or logbooks.
• Basic math skills.
• High school diploma, relevant training, or equivalent experience.

Safety First

Required personal protective equipment includes:

• Safety glasses
• Gloves
• Hard hat while loading

Additional Requirements

• Ability and willingness to work shifts as scheduled by management.
• Ability to successfully complete the required drug screening.
• Ability to successfully complete the required DOT physical examination.
• Must follow all company safety, transportation, and unloading procedures.
