Job summary

CHS Inc. has an exciting opportunity in our Transportation division for a Feed Truck Driver. You will load and unload trucks, independently transport feed to customer locations, provide high-quality customer service, and ensure full compliance with DOT, company, and regulatory requirements.

• Valid Class A or Class B CDL as required for the equipment/route
• Minimum 1 year of verifiable CDL driving experience

Responsibilities

• Operate a semi-tractor/trailer to deliver non-hazardous materials to customer sites on complex routes
• Drive in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies
• Provide professional customer service during pickups and deliveries; communicate clearly and elevate issues as needed
• Connect/disconnect trailers and perform loading/unloading per safety protocols
• Complete delivery documentation and maintain accurate logs
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report issues promptly
• Report accidents and incidents and model safety behaviors
• Provide guidance to Associate Drivers on routes, equipment operation, and safety
• Share knowledge to support team efficiency and customer satisfaction

Summary

CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Transportation division for a Feed Truck Driver. In this role, you will load and unload trucks, independently transport feed to customer locations, provide high‑quality customer service, and ensure full compliance with DOT, company, and regulatory requirements. You will exercise sound judgment in route execution and safety decisions and serve as a reliable operational resource within the transportation team. This role will also require light maintenance on equipment, and operations at the plant when driving is slow.

Responsibilities

• Operate a semi‑tractor and trailer (or straight truck) to deliver non‑hazardous materials to customer sites across complex or variable routes, ensuring safe and efficient execution
• Drive in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies, using sound judgment regarding route safety, road conditions, and compliance requirements
• Provide professional customer service during pickups and deliveries; communicate clearly, resolve routine issues, and elevate non‑routine concerns as appropriate
• Connect and disconnect trailers, and perform product transfer loading and unloading activities in accordance with safety protocols
• Complete required delivery documentation and daily load/unload reports, and maintain accurate electronic logs and onboard computer entries
• Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections, and report maintenance, safety, or equipment concerns promptly
• Report accidents, incidents, near misses, and equipment issues; follow required procedures; and model strong safety and compliance behaviors
• Provide informal guidance and support to Associate Drivers as needed regarding routes, equipment operation, and safety practices
• Share operational knowledge and best practices to support team efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction

Minimum Qualifications (required)

• Valid Class A or Class B CDL (as required for the equipment/route)
• Have a minimum of 1 year of verifiable CDL driving experience
• Must meet age requirement
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and compliance, and complete required documentation accurately

Additional Qualifications

• Demonstrate the ability to operate independently in a high‑skill driving role, including managing complex routes or delivery requirements
• Demonstrated safe‑driving performance and ability to make sound safety decisions in changing weather and road conditions
• Strong customer service skills and a history of positive customer feedback
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to safely climb in and out of truck cabs and trailers
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions; travel and time away from home as required by the schedule

CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
