Job summary

MasTec, Inc. is seeking a driver responsible for transporting construction equipment and materials between jobsites. You will perform daily pre-trip inspections, ensure loads are secured, and coordinate with the office to resolve equipment issues.

The role requires a valid Class A CDL, safe driving practices, and the ability to follow safety procedures while maintaining equipment and complying with permits and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Education and work experience as listed: GED or diploma preferred; 1 year certificate or 1–2 years related experience.
  • Valid Class A Commercial Drivers License is required.
  • Experience transporting construction equipment and materials is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload equipment and materials.
  • Secure loads and adhere to weight limits.
  • Perform vehicle and equipment maintenance.
  • Haul materials and communicate issues between sites and office.
  • Daily truck inspections and obtaining required permits.
  • Maintain safe driving record and report major repairs.

Job description

Overview

Responsible for transporting several types of construction equipment and materials throughout and between jobsites

Responsibilities
  • Load and unload equipment and materials
  • Secure loads, is aware of load limits (weights)
  • Vehicle and equipment maintenance
  • Haul counterweights for cranes Haul water, sand and gravel
  • Ensure safety procedures are adhered to at all times
  • Communicate equipment and material issues between the office/shop/jobsite
  • Daily inspection of truck
  • Obtain required permits
  • Maintain a safe driving record
  • Handle basic maintenance of the truck including filling tank with gas, checking oil, keeping it clean and making sure required inspections are performed
  • Advise Superintendent if trucks need major repairs and maintenance
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • One year certificate from college or technical school and/or one to two years related experience
  • Previous experience with transporting construction equipment and materials
  • Valid Class A Commercial Drivers License
