Goodwill Industries of Mid-Michigan - CDL Class A Semi-Truck Driver (Part-Time)

Goodwill Industries of Mid-Michigan is seeking a motivated and positive individual for a Part-Time, CDL Class A Semi-Truck Driver position at our Flint Warehouse located at 501 S. Averill. The starting union wage is $19.95 per hour. Work hours are Monday - Friday, day shift, with occasional Saturday or Sunday shifts (2-3 times per year).

Our Mission: To assist individuals with barriers to employment in making the transition to independence and self-sufficiency.

Job Responsibilities:

• Operating vehicles and other assigned equipment safely and responsibly.
• Performing daily vehicle checks per DOT standards and completing inspection paperwork.
• Loading and unloading materials safely at the plant, outlying stores, and Donation Center locations.
• Proper placement of materials during unloading into designated containers or departments.
• Using assigned cellular phones according to company guidelines to report to dispatch or supervisors.
• Reporting unsafe conditions observed.
• Greeting donors courteously and providing receipts as needed.
• Following designated routes and reporting any changes due to unforeseen circumstances.

Qualifications:

• Ability to operate straight trucks and 53 ft. semi-trailers
• High school diploma helpful
• Required reading, writing, and math skills
• Vocational training helpful; previous training required
• Valid Michigan Commercial Driver’s License with all endorsements for assigned vehicles
• Ability to pass a Clearinghouse License reference check
• Good driving record (no more than four points for Michigan violations)
• Ability to meet physical demands and pass drug/alcohol testing
