Job summary

Harnish Group Inc. in Fairbanks, Alaska is seeking a CDL Driver to serve as the interface with our customers. You will load, secure and deliver freight, perform vehicle inspections, and maintain logs while following safety policies and AKDOT regulations.

A standard transmission is required. You will collaborate with our parts counter staff to ensure accurate orders and timely delivery, with a focus on meeting customer expectations and operating in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Valid Class B CDL with air brake endorsement and 2 years driving experience.
• Ability to drive a standard transmission.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and operate forklift.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Load, secure and deliver freight on the vehicle in a safe, timely manner.

The CDL Driver position in our Fairbanks, Alaska location serves as an interface with our valuable customers.

The CDL Driver position in our Fairbanks, Alaska location serves as an interface with our valuable customers.

The primary responsibilities of this role requires friendly, helpful and expeditious customer service to our VIP customers.

As a driver of a box style straight truck, you will be responsible for all aspects of loading, securing and delivering freight onto the vehicle; delivering freight safely and in a timely manner, vehicle inspections for load and road safety according to company policy; maintaining company vehicle log and facilitate required maintenance; following all company safety policies along with OSHA and AKOSH regulations; and following relevant AKDOT regulations and other duties as assigned. Ability to drive a Standard transmission is required.

We have thousands of parts for our many pieces of machinery and it is essential that our warehouse employees safely ship and receive parts orders ensuring accuracy in each order and to the expectations of our customers.

Solid communication skills are necessary. We need a team player who will collaborate with our parts counter staff to expedite the parts orders of our customers. Minimum Class B with Air Brake endorsement.

Qualifications & Experience Needed

Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL B), with 2-years of CDL driving experience.

Ability to drive a Standard transmission is required.

Be able to manually lift up to 50 pounds and have forklift experience.

This physically demanding job requires standing, climbing on and off a truck, walking and picking parts for an 8-hour day.

Our customers are often under time constraints so the ability to handle working in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment is essential to be successful.

A high school diploma or equivalent combined with previous warehouse, and customer service experience is a great start for this role

Salary range starts at $32.35 per hour. Hourly offered based on skills and experience.
