Job description

Truck Driver is responsible for operating commercial vehicles exceeding 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight to deliver goods to customers and operations, as well as to pick up materials from vendors and other locations.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Safely operate vehicles under various weather conditions to deliver products.
2. Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
3. Inspect equipment to ensure safe operating conditions, including checking oil and fuel before departure.
4. Secure and inspect loads to ensure proper security.
5. Adhere to all safety, DOT, and company regulations.
6. Perform preventive maintenance and maintain cleanliness of the truck.
7. Maintain accurate driving records, logs, and shipping documents.
8. Use radio/telephone and Electronic On-Board System to communicate with the base or supervisor.
9. Verify shipping documents for accuracy and obtain customer signatures upon delivery.
10. Complete necessary paperwork.
11. Operate a forklift for loading and unloading as required, following company policies.
12. Participate in training, safety, continuous improvement, and other meetings.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. Must be at least 21 years old.
2. High school diploma or equivalent.
3. Minimum of 1 year of experience driving a commercial vehicle over 26,000 lbs; 3-5 years preferred.
4. Knowledge of vehicle parts and minor repairs.
5. Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
6. Successful completion of forklift licensing.
