Job summary

Corning Incorporated is seeking a Supply Chain Planner to oversee the delivery of fiber optic cable to our business partners. You will drive production order dating, scheduling, and master scheduling while coordinating with PLM, planners, and operations to ensure on-time execution of the production plan.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of supply chain experience, with strong MS Office and SAP/ERP knowledge.

  • Support production planning/master scheduling activities, including order management, resource planning, delivery promising, and reporting of actual manufacturing results vs. plan.

  • Lead new system implementation projects and initiatives within Planning and Procurement.
  • Work closely with production coordinators and team leaders to establish short- term and long-term expectations and execution of the production plan.

Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry‑leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry. This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical‑based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical‑based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Role Purpose

Involves the overall planning, implementation and optimization of activities and support required for the delivery of fiber optic cable to our business partners. Primary areas of responsibility include driving production order dating, scheduling, releasing production orders to operations, supply chain related project work, and data analysis.

Day To Day Responsibilities
  • Support production planning/master scheduling activities, including order management, resource planning, delivery promising, and production forecasting and reporting of actual manufacturing results vs. plan.
  • Coordinating plans and execution with Product Line Management (PLM), Planners, Operations Engineering and Plant Management.
  • Lead new system implementation projects and initiatives within Planning and Procurement.
  • Work closely with production coordinators and team leaders to establish short- term and long-term expectations and execution of the production plan.
Education/Experience Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Minimum 3 years of Supply Chain experience.
  • Computer Literate in MS Office.
Desired Skills
  • Project Management.
  • Understand aspects of inventory management.
  • SAP/ERP knowledge and experience.

The range for this position is $71,930.00 - $98,904.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
