Job summary

The University of Maine at Presque Isle seeks a TRIO - Talent Search Academic Advisor. The Advisor provides academic advising, career exploration, study skills, financial literacy education, and individualized support to help students prepare for college success.

This 11-month, 40-hour-per-week position is home- and school-based, with most days spent at partner school sites and a schedule following school calendars. Some travel and after-hours work may be required.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree in counseling or related field required.
• Ability to travel to assigned schools with a valid driver’s license and insured vehicle.
• Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic advising, career exploration, and study skills development.
• Track student progress and coordinate with school staff and TRIO colleagues.
• Connect students to campus and community resources.
• Support middle and high school students in partner schools across Presque Isle, Central Aroostook, Fort Fairfield, Caswell, Limestone, Washburn, and Ashland.
