Job summary

Paul D. Camp Community College in Suffolk, VA seeks a TRiO SSS Academic Advisor/Student Support Liaison to provide personalized academic, career and transfer advising within the TRiO Student Support Services program. This is a full-time Education Support Specialist III position.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, or related field and at least three years of higher education advising experience. Occasional evenings, weekends and overnight travel are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, human services, or related field.
• Three years of relevant experience in student affairs or academic advising in higher education.
• Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures.
• Proficiency with office productivity software.
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and commitment to high-quality service.
• Experience collaborating to promote student success.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Valid driver’s license and use of personal automobile; travel between campuses.

• May perform other duties as assigned; assist during emergencies.
• Coordinate services with TRiO programs and campus partners.
