Trimmer Trainee/Climbing Arborist | Monroeville, PA

Position Overview

Trim and remove trees, eliminate unwanted, diseased, or dying limbs to promote the health and safety of trees and surrounding areas.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Learn to climb trees! (Yes, we will pay you to do that.)
• Operate as a member of a tree crew while progressively learning new skills
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully, including:
• Tree identification and industry pruning guidelines
• Pruning, thinning, and removing deadwood throughout the canopy
• Installing cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems
• Assisting in hazardous tree removal
• Properly maintaining, preparing, and operating tools and equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, etc.
• The level of responsibility depends on your growth and learning.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors
• Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving courses upon hire
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by law
