Job summary

Burford’s Construction seeks a Trimmer B to join a conventional or bucket crew, performing most aerial tasks while excluding the most challenging removals. Prioritize safety, demonstrate trustworthiness, and apply pruning techniques including natural and directional pruning.

The role requires English communication, 1+ year experience, and a CDL is preferred. Travel and overtime may be required in varied locations and weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ year of relevant experience.
• Able to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Bilingual (Spanish / English) a plus.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL strongly preferred.
• Able to travel long distances on short notice; work in various locations.

Responsibilities

• Prioritizing safety as a core value and upholding safety measures.
• Demonstrating trustworthiness and responsibility in all job-related activities.
• Understanding proper pruning techniques, including natural and directional pruning.
• Possessing requirements for the Climber C classification.
• Climbing trees near energized lines and performing maintenance tasks (excluding the most difficult).
• Safely removing overhangs with assistance and pruning around live conductors.
• Ability to remove trees presenting danger to owner facilities.
• Knowledge of chipper, split-dump, chain saws, bucket equipment.
• Maintain excellent customer relations; read/write/communicate effectively.
• If on bucket crew, understand bucket operations.
• Learn to use bucket and hydraulic circular saw for tree tasks; participate in storm restoration.
