Job summary

Burford’s Construction is seeking a Trimmer A to perform tree trimming and climbing tasks with emphasis on safety and proficiency. The role involves pruning, rigging, and working near energized lines, with occasional bucket use and heavy lifting in diverse locations.

Candidates should have 3+ years of experience, a valid CDL, and be able to travel as needed. Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus, and high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of relevant experience required.
• Able to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus.
• Must have a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Capable of extended work periods in various locations.
• Able to lift 50 lbs or more.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety is the top priority and promote a safety-conscious environment.
• Demonstrate trustworthiness and responsibility in job-related tasks.
• Understand proper pruning techniques and directional pruning for emergencies.
• Possess qualifications for lower climber classifications.
• Demonstrate expertise in climbing trees near energized lines and routine maintenance.
• Safely remove overhangs with assistance and prune around live conductors.
• Work with bucket if used to climb near energized conductors and remove trees.
• Assist in on-the-job training of less experienced climbers and bucket operators.
• Use equipment such as bucket trucks, chainsaws, and chippers safely.
• Exercise good judgment and make sound decisions daily.
• Join storm restoration efforts when required.
