Job summary

Round Valley Indian Tribes is seeking a Tribal Youth Program Coordinator to design, implement and oversee programs for tribal youth, ensuring alignment with cultural values and community goals.

This full-time role will focus on community engagement, resource coordination, outreach, education, and monitoring to drive program impact, with travel to tribal communities and grant-funded stability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, education, public health or related field; master’s preferred.
• Minimum 3 years in program coordination, youth services, or community development.
• Deep understanding of tribal cultures and youth challenges.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and similar software.
• Willingness to travel to tribal communities and attend meetings.

PAY RATE: $27.00 HOURLY - DOE HOURS: Full-Time REPORT TO: Tribal Youth Program Director

• Program Development and Management: Design, implement and oversee programs tailored to the needs of tribal youth, ensuring they align with cultural values and community goals.
• Community Engagement: Build strong relationships with tribal communities, leaders, parents and youth to understand their needs and promote program participation.
• Resource Coordination: Identify and coordinate resources, including funding opportunities, partnerships, and volunteers, to support program initiatives.
• Outreach and Recruitment: Develop and execute outreach strategies to attract and engage tribal youth in program activities.
• Education and Training: Provide educational workshops and training sessions for youth, parents, and community members on various topics such as cultural heritage, health and life skills.
• Monitoring and Evaluation: Establish metrics to assess program effectiveness, gather feedback, and make data-driven improvements.
• Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on program progress, outcomes and impact to stakeholders, including tribal councils and funding agencies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in social work, education, public health or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in program coordination, youth services or community development, preferably within tribal communities.
• Cultural Competence: Deep understanding of tribal cultures, traditions, and the specific challenges faced by tribal youth.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences.
• Interpersonal Skills: Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
• Organizational Skills: Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
• The Tribal Youth Program Coordinator will primarily work within tribal communities, requiring travel to various locations for program implementation and community engagement. The role may also involve attending meetings, conferences and training sessions.
• Compensation for the Tribal Youth Program Coordinator will be competitive for the Round Valley area. Health insurance will be provided. This is a grant funded program that will extend for a 5 year period.
