Job summary

The Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska seeks a Fish and Wildlife Officer to protect natural resources, enforce tribal wildlife, fisheries, and environmental laws, and promote public safety and stewardship. Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Criminal Justice, Natural Resources, Wildlife Management, Fisheries, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.
  • Kansas Law Enforcement Certification (KLETC) or equivalent.
  • CPR/First Aid and Defensive Driving; Firearms Qualification; Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

  • Patrol Tribal lands, waterways, parks, forests, and conservation areas by vehicle, boat, or on foot.
  • Enforce Tribal, federal, and applicable state wildlife, fisheries, boating, and environmental regulations.
  • Prepare evidence for prosecution and maintain chain of custody; provide receipts and evidentiary inventories.
