Job summary

The Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska seeks a Fish and Wildlife Officer to protect natural resources, enforce tribal wildlife, fisheries, and environmental laws, and promote public safety and stewardship. You will patrol tribal lands by vehicle, boat, ATV, and on foot; investigate violations; prepare evidence for prosecution; and work with the Fish and Wildlife Board to set seasons and bag limits.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Criminal Justice, Natural Resources, Wildlife Management, Fisheries, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.
• Kansas Law Enforcement Certification (KLETC) or equivalent.
• CPR/First Aid and Defensive Driving; Firearms Qualification; Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Patrol Tribal lands, waterways, parks, forests, and conservation areas by vehicle, boat, or on foot.
• Enforce Tribal, federal, and applicable state wildlife, fisheries, boating, and environmental regulations.
• Prepare evidence for prosecution and maintain chain of custody; provide receipts and evidentiary inventories.
