Job summary

Chickaloon Village Tribal Council (CVTC) seeks a Tribal Police Officer to join a dedicated team protecting rural Alaskan communities. The role emphasizes community policing, responding to calls, and upholding tribal and federal laws while supporting elders and vulnerable residents.

Ideal candidates have POST/APSC training and at least one year of patrol experience. The position is part-time with opportunities for training, professional development, and wellness programs in a family-friendly work

Qualifications

• 1+ year of police experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with diverse groups.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; perform under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Respond to a range of service calls and enforce Tribal and federal laws.
• Protect the public through patrolling assigned areas and community safety programs.
• Attend court proceedings and participate in tribal meetings and trainings.
• Foster relationships with emergency services, community groups, and Elders.
