Job summary

The Nature Conservancy in Nebraska seeks an Indigenous Partnerships Specialist to advance Tribal engagement strategy, plans, and programs. You will serve as a primary liaison with Tribal Nations and Indigenous communities, collaborating with conservation teams to honor Tribal sovereignty and Traditional Ecological Knowledge.

This role requires a Bachelor’s degree with 3 years’ experience in natural resource management or related field, strong relationship-building, and the ability to travel up

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 3 years’ experience in natural resource management or related field.
• Experience with Tribal Nations and Indigenous communities in a culturally appropriate manner.
• Strong relationship-building with Tribal partners, media, government officials, and internal scientists.
• Ability to work independently to meet deadlines.
• Proficient written, spoken, and graphical English; knowledge of other languages is a plus.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, and web browsers.
• Experience in training.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Builds and maintains relationships with Tribal and non-Tribal partners.
• Ensures program compliance with internal policies and external requirements.
• Performs tasks with minimal supervision and makes independent decisions.
• Travel could be up to 50% in the first year.
