Job summary

Kodiak Area Native Association (KANA) is seeking an Environmental Coordinator to support tribal environmental programs across Kodiak. This role coordinates technical assistance, partnerships, and IGAP-related work with Tribal IGAP staff, Tribes, and regional partners.

It requires building collaborative relationships and providing hands-on support in program development and reporting. The EC will travel to Kodiak Tribes and villages, help implement environmental priorities, and ensure compliance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Biology, Natural Resources, or related field preferred.
  • Experience coordinating projects with Tribal communities and partners.
  • Ability to work respectfully with Alaska Native communities, Tribal governments, and regional partners.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate technical assistance, partnerships, and resources for tribal environmental programs.
  • Support IGAP work plan development, program implementation, and reporting.
  • Build relationships with Tribes, agencies, and regional partners to enhance collaboration.
  • Coordinate data collection, analysis, and reporting to evaluate project progress.
  • Travel to Kodiak villages to provide education and outreach on project goals.
  • Support development of grant narratives and timely reporting.
