The Department of Commerce seeks a Tribal Clean Energy Specialist to advance state energy and climate policy in collaboration with tribal communities across Washington. You will convene diverse stakeholders and help design and implement policy aligned with tribal sovereignty and state goals.

Responsibilities include developing policy options, supporting grant programs, and coordinating with the Governor’s Office and other agencies to ensure consistent tribal engagement and equitable outcomes.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, public/business administration, public policy, or closely related field.
  • Minimum five years of experience in public policy, energy policy, or climate policy.
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills for non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and economic environment in Washington.

Responsabilidades

  • Develop legislative, policy and program initiatives to advance energy, climate and equity objectives.
  • Engage tribal organizations, government, industry, and advocacy groups to identify policy options.
  • Recommend and implement policy options improving racial equity and reducing pollution from greenhouse gases.
  • Prepare testimony, reports, and presentations to advance tribal interests in policy.
