Job summary

Syngenta Group is seeking a Trialing Specialist Technician in Monroeville, IN for a 9-month position from March 1 to November 30. You will conduct corn and soybean yield trials, collect high-quality data, and support trialing workflows while coordinating with the Trialing Manager.

The role requires experience with precision ag equipment and software, and a strong ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. DOT card and pesticide license may be required or acquired.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in agriculture or related experience preferred.
• Experience with precision agriculture equipment and software systems.
• Knowledge of corn and soybean crops used in trials.
• Understanding of practices affecting trial data precision and accuracy.
• Ability to communicate and work well as part of a team.
• Ability to acquire a medical DOT card.
• Commercial Pesticide Applicator License or ability to acquire.
• Drone experience or ability to obtain a drone license.
• Ability to solve complex problems with minimal supervision.
• Maintain positive relationships with area cooperators.

Responsibilities

• Function as an integral member of a team for seasonal yield trial activities (planning, note taking, planting, harvest).
• Evaluate and secure quality yield trial land in the testing area.
• Serve as an expert source of yield trial processes and protocols.
• Work with limited supervision and autonomously.
• Supervise third-party labor for planting, phenotyping, and harvest.
• Lead projects and provide guidance to team members.
• Contribute to development of new trial protocols/standards.
• Regularly communicate with Trialing Manager about project status.
• Operate tractors for planting research plots and harvest data collection.
