Job summary

The Vertex Companies, Inc. is seeking a Trial Technology professional to support our Visual Communications practice. You will organize exhibits, operate trial presentation software, and troubleshoot issues to ensure accurate courtroom presentations across trials, arbitrations, and hearings.

You will work with attorneys, experts, and teams to align technology with case strategy, travel nationwide, and support high-stakes litigation in diverse settings.

Qualifications

• Background in trials/arbitrations or complex litigation.
• Experience supporting courtroom technology during live proceedings.
• MDL experience preferred but not required.
• Strong accuracy under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary trial technology consultant and hot seat operator in trials, arbitrations, hearings, and depositions.
• Prepare and quality-check trial presentation databases, exhibits, witness materials, and multimedia evidence.
• Partner with attorneys, experts, and visual communications teams to ensure presentations support case strategy.
• Configure, test, and troubleshoot courtroom and remote-hearing technology and presentation software.

Job Description

The Vertex Companies is building a pipeline of Trial Technology professionals to support future growth within our Visual Communications practice.

Trial Technology professionals will ensure that the technology, digital evidence, and presentation systems supporting litigation proceedings are organized, reliable, and ready when needed. Working alongside attorneys, expert witnesses, and project teams, you'll prepare and organize exhibits, operate trial presentation software, troubleshoot technical challenges, and help ensure presentations are delivered accurately and efficiently in the courtroom, deposition room, arbitration, mediation, or other litigation settings.

Core Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary trial technology consultant and hot seat operator, presenting exhibits, demonstratives, video testimony, and electronic evidence during trials, arbitrations, hearings, and depositions.
• Prepare, organize, and quality-check trial presentation databases, exhibits, witness materials, and multimedia evidence for use in proceedings, including exhibit stamping.
• Partner with attorneys, experts, and visual communications teams to ensure presentations and demonstratives effectively support case strategy.
• Configure, test, and troubleshoot courtroom, war room, and remote-hearing technology, including presentation software, audio/visual equipment, and virtual platforms.
• Provide real-time courtroom support, including exhibit retrieval, document comparisons, impeachment materials, and last-minute presentation requests.
• Travel throughout the United States, including extended assignments during active trial engagements, as business needs require.

Qualifications & Competencies

• We welcome candidates ranging from early-career professionals to experienced litigation technology specialists with backgrounds in one or more of the following areas:
  • Deep expertise with OnCue, PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Suite, and deposition video software.
  • Prior experience supporting trials, arbitrations, hearings, or complex commercial litigation matters required.
  • Experience with Multi-District Litigation (MDL) preferred, but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to perform effectively under tight deadlines and in high-stakes environments.
• Ability to work effectively in professional legal environments and comply with required standards of conduct and business attire for regular courtroom appearances and client-facing responsibilities.
