Job summary

The Flint Judicial Circuit in Georgia is seeking an Assistant District Attorney for the Trial Line to prosecute cases and manage trial preparation. The role offers remote work two days per week after an initial training period, with in-person court appearances as required.

Qualifications

• Must be a member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia or eligible for reciprocity.
• Must be admitted to practice before the Georgia Supreme Court and Court of Appeals.
• Background checks including fingerprinting and pre-employment drug screening required.

Responsibilities

• Review reports and case files submitted by law enforcement.
• Determine whether further investigation is needed.
• Draft accusations and indictments; dismiss non-prosecutable cases.
• Present cases to grand jury and question witnesses.
• Develop trial plan and strategy for trials.
• File motions and comply with discovery requirements.
• Go to trial on unresolved cases.
• Negotiate pleas to resolve cases.
• Research case law and potential defenses.
• Coordinate with trial team including investigators and victim advocates.
