Job summary

The Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) in Florida seeks a TRIAL COMP INSTRUCTOR for the Developmental Disabilities Defendant Program in Chattahoochee. The role focuses on custody, care, safety, and trial competency training for residents ordered by the Court. This position requires implementing curricula and maintaining thorough records.

Work hours are Monday–Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and may require overtime or additional shifts during emergencies.

Qualifications

• A valid driver’s license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two (2) years of professional experience providing educational, recreational, rehabilitative, therapeutic, court education, trial competency, or related services in a group or individual setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide trial competency training using approved materials and curriculum.
• Model appropriate behavior and facilitate resident engagement.
• Implement the Trial Competency Training Curriculum and document progress.
• Complete required documentation and time records accurately.
• Assist with resident supervision and provide training as needed.
• Deliver training and therapeutic interventions as assigned.
• Maintain ongoing training and certifications including MANDT and CPR/First Aid.
• Participate in treatment teams and report resident progress.
