Job summary

Confidential Employer seeks an experienced plaintiff personal injury attorney for a true trial-forward role. You will handle cases from pre-suit through trial, guiding clients with empathy and strategy in Newark, NJ or Columbia, SC offices.

Licensure in the respective state is required, with 5+ PI years and 5+ PI trials as first chair. Competitive compensation with bonus potential, strong support platform, and nationwide growth.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients, earn trust and guide them through litigation with empathy.
• Own plaintiff PI cases from pre-suit through trial, including strategy and case development.
• Prepare cases for trial, including discovery strategy, motions, deposition planning, and expert coordination.
• Take and defend key depositions and drive momentum toward resolution or verdict.
• Negotiate with carriers and defense counsel, and communicate case status and settlement posture.
• Try cases when appropriate and collaborate with support staff to move files efficiently.

Pay: $150,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year

Location:Full-time openings on-site in Newark, New Jersey or Columbia, South Carolina. You'll be based in one of these offices and handle local matters in that jurisdiction.

Note:Must be licensed and in good standing in the state where you will be located (New Jersey Bar for Newark or South Carolina Bar for Columbia). Must have 5+ years of plaintiff personal injury experience and at least 5 personal injury trials as first chair.

• Prepare cases for trial, including discovery strategy, motion practice, deposition planning, and expert coordination
• Take and defend key depositions and drive case momentum toward resolution or verdict
• Negotiate with carriers and defense counsel, and communicate case status, demands, offers, and settlement posture
• Try cases when appropriate and represent clients in hearings and other court appearances as neededCollaborate closely with support staff and other attorneys to keep files moving efficiently and professionally

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school
• 5+ years of plaintiff personal injury experience
• Minimum 5 PI trials as first chair
• Active bar membership in New Jersey or South Carolina (depending on office location), in good standing
• Strong claim evaluation and negotiation skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proactive, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
