Job summary

Qualifications

  • Ability to conduct depositions with outlines and questioning.
  • Active Tennessee law license; ability to appear in state/federal courts.
  • Excellent legal research and writing; attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Clear, professional communication with clients and colleagues remotely.
  • Prior experience in personal injury or civil litigation; trial work is a plus.
  • Ability to manage a remote workload and meet deadlines.

Role Description

The Trial Attorney is a full-time hybrid remote role responsible for managing a personal injury litigation caseload from intake through resolution. On a day-to-day basis, the attorney will investigate claims, develop case strategy, draft and argue motions, and prepare pleadings and discovery. The role includes conducting depositions, appearing in court proceedings (virtual or in-person as required), negotiating settlements, and preparing cases for trial. The Trial Attorney will collaborate with support staff and other attorneys, maintain regular communication with clients, and ensure all deadlines, court rules, and ethical obligations are met. The position requires proactive case management, strong advocacy skills, and comfort working independently in a remote environment while coordinating with the firm’s team.


Qualifications


  • Strong foundation in Law, including civil litigation and personal injury principles, and familiarity with applicable procedural and evidentiary rules.

  • Demonstrated experience with Motions, including drafting, filing, and arguing dispositive and procedural motions in civil courts.

  • Comfortable working with Courts, including handling hearings, conferences, and complying with local rules and scheduling orders.

  • Hands-on experience with Trials, including case preparation, witness examination, evidentiary issues, and advocacy before judges and juries.

  • Ability to conduct Depositions, including preparing outlines, questioning parties and witnesses, and using testimony strategically in litigation.

  • Active law license in good standing in Tennessee; eligibility to appear in relevant state and/or federal courts.

  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills, with attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.

  • Clear, professional communication skills, with the ability to explain legal issues to clients and collaborate with colleagues remotely.

  • Prior experience in personal injury or civil litigation is preferred; trial experience or second-chair trial work is a plus.

  • Ability to manage a remote workload, use legal and case management software, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
