Position: Trial Attorney
Location: Remote (California Bar Required)
Compensation: $150,000 – $190,000 per year, based on experience
Billable Hour Expectation: 1,600–1,700 annually
Case Load: 5–10 active cases
About the Role
A growing plaintiff-side litigation firm is seeking a highly motivated and strategic Trial Attorney to join its legal team. This is a remote position ideal for an experienced litigator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to take ownership of meaningful cases from inception through trial. Candidates should be naturally curious, ambitious, and committed to delivering exceptional legal representation.
You’ll handle a small but high-impact caseload with full responsibility for filings, strategy, and courtroom execution. The role involves regular trial activity and offers the opportunity to work closely with entrepreneurial clients and business owners across various industries.
Key Responsibilities
Manage all stages of litigation for 5–10 plaintiff-side cases, including strategy, drafting, discovery, motion practice, and court appearances
Proactively file new cases and oversee case development through trial or settlement
Conduct and defend depositions, attend mediations, and negotiate resolutions
Represent clients in both state and federal courts
Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, memoranda, and settlement agreements
Participate in trial preparation and lead courtroom efforts as first or second chair
Maintain organized and timely case documentation and meet all procedural deadlines
Provide strategic counsel to clients, keeping them informed and engaged throughout the legal process
Qualifications
Active member in good standing of the California State Bar
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in litigation with demonstrated trial involvement
Currently active in filing and managing plaintiff-side cases
Strong knowledge of business litigation; experience with intellectual property, employment law, and commercial disputes a plus
Proven ability to argue motions, conduct depositions, and participate in full trial proceedings
Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
Self-directed with the ability to thrive in a remote environment
Excellent communication and client management skills
