Job summary

Join our team as a full-time Triage Nurse with BJC Medical Group in OBGYN located in Chesterfield. This outpatient role is a Day Shift, 40 hours per week with no call, no weekends, and no holidays.

Be part of a respected network within BJC HealthCare and help deliver high‑quality ambulatory care. The role requires RN licensure and BLS, with 2–5 years of nursing experience; preferred OB/GYN exposure and a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.

Qualifications

• Direct patient care to identified patients in collaboration with providers and care team to assess, develop and implement a plan of care to deliver clinically appropriate, high‑quality, cost‑effective care.
• Ambulatory RN oversight/guidance to clinical staff working in the clinic and daily patient management support for providers.
• RN duties require adherence to clinical protocols and patient assessment guidelines per SOP and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with PCPs and Specialists to develop and implement care plans to maximize healthcare outcomes and wellness.
• Use nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial and emotional needs of patients.
• Ensure following clinical protocols and documentation in compliance with SOPs.
• Support providers in documenting patient assessment and treatment protocols.
• Provide patient education with verbal and written instructions; assess patient/family understanding; problem-solve with critical thinking.
• A safety‑sensitive position requiring alertness and safe work practices.

• Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate patient's physical, psychosocial and emotional needs.
• Assures that clinical protocols and patient assessment guidelines are followed in accordance with standard operating procedures and compliance guidelines.
• Supports providers in appropriately documenting patient assessment and treatment protocols in accordance with compliance standards.
• Provides patient education and support, including verbal and written instructions; uses the appropriate tools and techniques to assess the patient’s and/or family’s ability to receive education; takes initiative to problem solve and demonstrates critical thinking skills.
• BJC has determined this is a safety‑sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
